About the contribution of the European Commission – Humanitarian Aid
Thanks to the generous contribution of EUR 62 million (2016 – 2017) by the European Commission – Humanitarian Aid, UNHCR is supporting the Greek government to provide protection and assistance to refugees and migrants in mainland Greece, according to international standards.
These are: Emergency water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) interventions, provision of non-food items, upgrading of existing shelter solutions and site standards, coordination, information management products and child protection services in all sites.

Α fresh start for refugees in Greece
For the 46,000 men, women and children in Greece, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, implement a range of different activities from ensuring protection to shelter and educational programs in collaboration with partners and thanks to the support of the European Commission – Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid Operations – ECHO.
